Basic Objective – Position Summary
The Marketing Director (CMO) is responsible for marketing strategy, marketing plans, product management, branding, advertising, public relations and sales support. The CMO will have direct client interaction and will be the public face of the company at industry conferences. The individual will be considered a member of the senior management team and drive sales to achieve the firm’s business goals. The candidate is expected to improve the impact of advertising and public relations initiatives, conceptualize and produce integrated marketing campaigns and manage the marketing team to meet and exceed annual revenue targets.

Reporting Relationship
The Marketing Director (CMO) will report directly to the President of the company.

Location
The Marketing Director (CMO) position will be located at our client’s headquarters office in a New York City.

Scope of Role

Mission

  • The Marketing Director (CMO) has the overall responsibility to create and implement marketing strategies and tactical plans which meet and exceed the target revenue and profit goals in 2010 and beyond.
  • The Marketing Director (CMO) will drive innovations in branding, competitive analysis/positioning, DTC strategies and tactics, and overall/direct/digital marketing processes and infrastructures, to transform our client’s marketing to “best in class" status.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:
The scope of this position spans across all our client’s affiliated companies including Intrasweep, Landing Rock, Liquid Insured Deposits, Access Control Advantage and Island Intellectual Property.

  • Develop a marketing strategy, and supporting marketing plans, for each of our businesses including branding, brand positioning, marketing research, channel/distribution strategies, covering banks, plan sponsors and retail direct.
  • Manage and provide strategic direction to product management team.
  • Provide marketing insight, thought leadership, and expertise to continue exponential growth of the company; continually analyze, evaluate and modify the company’s brand and marketing positioning.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills and proven ability to transform an organization into a customer-led and marketing-led organization.
  • Create consumer, market and competitor intelligence insights and strengthen understanding, knowledge and market research of both consumer and business-to-business markets.
  • Oversee selections, management and evaluation of outside marketing agencies assisting in marketing branding, advertising, direct and internet marketing, event marketing and public relations.
  • Develop and implement metrics and processes, in collaboration with the MD of Sales & Marketing and CFO, to measure and maximize effectiveness of marketing strategies linked to marketing team performance and achievement of business goals and objectives.

Requirements & Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be an assertive, analytical, creative, business leader with high integrity who can build on the existing brands of our products.

  • 10 + years of experience as a hands-on successful strategic marketer with a proven track record as a problem solver and developer of innovative marketing solutions.
  • Experience developing, managing and marketing financial services products to retail direct, broker dealers, banks and plan sponsors.
  • A consumer driven mindset with direct marketing and/or e-commerce experience.
  • Action oriented, decisive quick study with proven strategic business and management skills.
  • Effective communicator both verbal and written; excellent listening skills and open to new ideas.
  • Demonstrated exemplary leadership skills.
  • Successful driver, builder and leader of marketing organizations, assuring that marketing personnel gain traction, credibility, and contribute to profitably building businesses.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, confidence and energy required to gain internal respect and build consensus with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Knowledge of financial budgeting and control activities as related to achieving marketing accountability and control.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field required. Masters degree preferred, but not required.

Education: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related discipline. Masters degree is preferred, but not required.

As our client is seeking an outstanding individual for this important senior leadership position, they are offering an attractive compensation package including base salary, discretionary cash bonus, long-term incentives and personal benefits.
