Role Definition and Responsibilities
The candidate will serve as a key executive leader responsible for Strategy and Innovation for the Company, ideally based on the West Coast. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to market demand by identifying a product or market which previously did not exist, and developing a long-term innovation roadmap for the business to keep it ahead of the competition.
  • Developing an innovation to the point significant market traction.
  • Defining a new interactive marketing innovation which transforms the marketing of products and services, and increases the overall effectiveness of a company’s marketing efforts (as measured through marketing cost per customer).
  • Developing and substantiating a business case for the innovation (e.g, business plan and rationale) and serve as internal champion.
  • Collaborating across operating groups and geographies to drive and grow a sustainable business.
  • Developing and deliver thought leadership and creative solutions that strengthen clients’ market distinction and leadership position.
  • Developing and deliver innovative proposals to capture both account growth and new business opportunities.
  • Promoting continual creative improvement and a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability.
  • Facilitating the collaborative strategic planning processes required to identify and obtain agreement on product strategy with respect to commercial impact, competition, core strengths and achievability.
  • Developing product roadmap and collaborating with the technology development process.
  • Leading client sales discussions on the achievable value proposition and business transformation through implementation of the innovation.
  • Travel requirement: 30%+.

Qualifications
Education: B.S., B.A. or equivalent in Marketing Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in Strategic Consulting, IT and Marketing Management, Digital or Interactive Marketing.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience as a line executive with direct strategic and operational responsibility for interactive marketing and related strategic operations and/or technologies (preferably including one or more high-profile organizations with a reputation for digital or interactive marketing sophistication and success).
  • Experience using new platforms and technologies for the digital channel (e.g. Flash, Flex, Ajax, Web Services, SOA, etc.) and related medium, including online advertising, search engine optimization, social engagement (e.g. Web 2.0, Wikis, widgets), web analytics and mobile computing.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a strategic and consultative selling and business development capacity with proven access to and high degree of comfort in C-level client interactions.
  • Client relationship skills and strong business development acumen.
  • Experience with defining high level enterprise digital architectures to support strategy recommendations.
  • Experience with developing large scale strategy and concept development for global solutions for Fortune 500 clients.
  • Experience in requirements definition and implementation for large scale projects.
  • Experience working in digital marketing and/or development environments and applying digital marketing and development best practices.
  • Experienced and comfortable working in a matrixed multinational environment.v
  • A strategic thinker – able to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) and influence both CEO’s and Senior Executives.
  • Strong executive presence, polish, and persuasive and articulate speaker.
  • Experience developing, mentoring, and managing teams with stellar interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to simply communicate complex concepts in a compelling, concise, and creative way.
  • A demonstrated history of building and maintaining trusted relationships with channels and partners, as well as clients.
  • Mature leadership style, able to work across a heavily matrixed environment.
